Maggie's Story
My Maggie was turned in to her vets at the age of 5 to be put to sleep by
her owners because she was a "problem". She had constant problems with her stomach..colitis and they claimed
behavioral problems. Well the good vet saw this poor dog didn't need this fate and turned her
into rescue.
I have her past vet records and this poor girl did indeed have
problems...while she lived with her past owners anyway!!
I have owned her now for 3 1/2 years and she has only had two mild bouts of
colitis..once when she was boarded..due to the stress. And once when she ate
a whole pumpkin date muffin and it upset her stomach.
But seeing how she acted when she had those bouts told me a lot
about the number those people must have done on her head.
She couldn't control her bowels, had an accident in the house one of the
times and she literally cringed with fear that I was going to yell at her or
something worse.
Anyway, once in awhile her tummy gets a little gassy or rumbly and she must
get fearful that she is going to get sick.
She clings by my side and just plain acts weird. The only way I could ever
get her to settle down was to do about a half hour massage on her belly! And
even with that she would still be stressed a bit.
Well three times now when she has acted like that, I have given her a shot
of Tranquility Tincture and I swear within two minutes she is all curled up
and sleeping like a baby!!
